Lyrics (if it's to the tune of something well known) would be great. Or if it's something with a tune I don't know - if you could let me know where I'd find a recording.

My son is 4 and will turn five in November. He missed the cutoff date for school so now I need a good preschool for him to go to.We make too much money for him to go to pre-k.The thing is that he is super smart and needs to be learning and not just playing all the time.Believe me,I am not just being partial and I really need help with this!We live in Hawkins,Texas. If anyone has an answer for me I would appreciate it.

I have recently started working at a preschool, it's not my first preschool job, and certainly not my first time working with children, but I still need a bit of advice.
I have a small child in my class who is always VERY dirty. His hair is gross, his clothes are stained and filthy, his shoes are at least a size to small.. Other then his hygeine, he doesn't seem to be suffering, he's not displaying any other signs of neglect or child abuse. He obviously loves his mother, and is happy to go home with her, but I'm still concerned.
I understand that they don't have a lot of money and can't afford nice clothes or new shoes, they are only able to afford the daycare because they are on county vouchers, as it's not a cheap daycare.
My question is do you believe that this warrents a call to child services? No one else seems to think it's too big of an issue, but as a mandated reporter I feel some obligation to report this.
I feel as though a call is inevitable

My daughter was in a 3 yr old program last year and flourished. She did well and was the leader of her class. This year we moved to a larger town and put her in pre-school. First I want to know is it normal for a pre-school curriculum to have sit down work most of the day? And if it is, how do you get a child to sit and do their work when they want to be moving around? My daughter doesn't stay still well, and is very smart. But she is just so bored with the sitdown work that she will do anything to get up and move. HELP!!!

For my assignment I have to write a dialogue that may occur between myself and a child who appears to have been beaten by his mother, but every time I try to write it I feel my character is "leading" the child.

What sort of questions would I ask that wouldn't traumatise the kid even more than he already would be?

What sort of things would a Five year old be likely to disclose to a child care worker about his mother hitting him?

and taking care means being hi9s bodyguard and his servant of course, and education means making him talk and comunicate and knowing what is good and what is wrong having a reaso and knowing what life is..and what people are..and how to behave with them..

so does shelter and food for a child has the same value with taking care and educating him?no matter who does this..mother grandmother parents who are not his real parents..etc
thank you..
thank you...

My son is turning four this October and my husband is deploying for
Iraq for the second time this December. We are moving back to
California during the deployment where my son will finish out his
preschool year at a catholic preschool. One of the requirements for
"graduation" is that they learn the Our Father and Hail Mary.
Although my husband and I are both Catholic I have not thought about
teaching him these prayers so young. Does anyone know of a good way
to help me start teaching him? I don't want him to start school and
be behind the other students.

Hi, I am thinking about putting my child in private school, he's 4, and I would like to know what the educational benchmarks are that he should be at. He knows his colors, shapes, a few letters, number identification, and so forth.

Is he above or below average? What should he know for someone his age? Is there an online site that has this information or does anybody know? I tried a few places but I didn't find what I was looking for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Creative Movement

(do actions with the teddy bears to suit)

Pick your teddy bear up from the ground,
Then go dancing all around.
Hold him high and hold him low,
As round and round and round you go!

substitute other words/actions for the poem...

...Hold him left and hold him right,
Hold him tight with all your might!...

...Hold him close and hold him far,
Pretend that he can drive a car!....

...Hold him in front and hold him in back,
sit down with him on your lap!.....

I am a stay at home mother of 3. None of my children have attended preschool. When people hear this, they look at me like I am crazy. I don't have a problem with preschool, I just really enjoy teaching and playing with my children at home. I am just curious if anyone out there feels the same.
