What are some Developmentally Appropriate Practices for 3 year olds that educators as well as parents can do to aid appropriate development and growth?

Lots of reading cute, fun but short stories, lots of music and movement, playdough is always a winner add scissors for development of fine motor skills, it also is easier to get the feel of using scissors with out the difficultly of also controlling the paper at the same time, painting whith chunky brushes or fingers, drawing/coloring are excellent prewriting skills, lots of ouside play,bikes, climbing etc. hope that helps

play with play dough, count anything, sort anything,such as nuts start with only two types and work your way up, read books, practice cutting with child's scissors, string large beads, cook together, Draw and ask what to tell you about picture, write a sentence at the bottom if it is ok with child, paint, draw with chalk, go for a nature walk, feed the ducks, go to the library,practice writing with a pencil, build with blocks and or legos .
