Greetings!
My daughter just started pre-K and a 7 hour day seems too long. She has been to school before (last year) for 3 half days a week and she loved it. Now she says she'd like to skip a day or come home after lunch. I signed a contract. Are we stuck? What do you think? Please help! Thank you

Does anyone know what exactly happens when you take your child in for his/her preschool screening. My son who is 2 1/2 is going in September to his preschool screening. Do they take them aside? What exactly do they go over? Just curious?

Usually when my wife decides she's against an idea, that's the end of it. So the day before yesterday when I brought up something that, even though not perhaps a huge deal in the great scheme of things, is important to me at the moment, she simply dismissed it right off. The whole conversation took about 15 seconds.

And that's the last conversation we've had. Yesterday was her day off but I ignored her all day. Usually we always hug and kiss every morning before going to work/school, but not this morning. We didn't exchange any words at all, and probably won't tonight either as she'll be home late and I intend to be asleep.

I don't believe giving the silent treatment to your spouse solves anything, it's rather cruel really. But I am just mad at her, and I am mad at myself for being mad. Talking to her now would just result in a big fight, which would not change the way either of us feel.

I guess I could apologize, pretend I'm not angry, just bottle it up. But what good is that?

My niece is almost 3 (next month) and she shows MANY signs of delay, from motor delay to language and speech delay. She also seems to have poor cognitive function. The thing is, my sister was so proud of the fact that she never ever crawled. Someone told me that there is a link between not having crawled and having some delays. Is there a link? And how the heck do I approach my sister (who is NOT the nicest person) about my niece whom I adore and want to see get the help she deserves?

my son is almost 3 and he knows colors, shapes, ABC's, 123s, he knows the names to the trains in his Thomas the tank engine collection (he has like 20), he know basic sign language and he also knows how to spell his name.... we talk all the time now and he communicates his needs clearly. ... sometimes i think he is a genius but i dunno...

I read to him and we study flashcards all the time. He has been watching Baby Einstein since he was 4 months.

Should I start teaching him simple math?

My child was in Headstart (3yrsold) and he stayed from 8-2pm. They had a family setting for dinner, provided breakfast, lunch and snack. Lots of parent interaction activities. Recess the works. Today I go to enroll in pre-k and they were actually pretty rude and I found they only stay 3 hours and no breakfast for the first month. I dont know why. This is really a drastic change from the other school but it's too far as they are not having buses in our area anymore. What 's your opinion on your child's headstart-prek transition?
