How do you explain inertia to kids aged 7 and below? (i need to write as a scenario in storybook form)?

Intertia is, in some ways, the same as laziness. It is easier for a ball thrown across a yard to follow the path it is taking than to turn around and come back. It travels due to the inertia it is given by the force of the throw.
