There's an Elementary School near by and I heard they have a Public free Pre-K program for 3 years olds and 4 year olds. My son is 2-years-old and wonder what the qualifications are for these programs. Do you usually have to be really poor? It sounds like my son doesn't have a chance in hell. What are the qualifications usually?

My son has a 50 min. ride to and from school. This is the only negative to him going (besides my attachment issues).

Does anyone have any ideas for activities a 4 year can do on a bus. He can't eat on the bus. I sent in a laminated car bingo card and a cranyon and an I spy picture book. That will get old soon. And he's learning how to draw on steamy windows, too...

But any ideas?

I am looking for something i can study from home and work. There are so many courses on the internet but i dont want to get the wrong one or ripped off. Any ideas? or experiance? I was thinking of Open University.

I just enrolled my son (who will turn 3 in November) in a nursery school class that has a great reputation and wonderful teachers and that is for children ages 2 1/2 to 3 (they must turn 3 by 12/31/07). I was at the playground and observed a little boy being very aggressive toward my child and some of the children in his class. His mother informed me that he is 4 (four) and that he is enrolled in the same class because she and some others decided that "he is a little on the immature side and might be a good leader for the other children." I almost passed out!! He is about one foot taller than all of the other children, and the behavior that I viewed was not positive behavior but down right bad. Do I have a valid concern for the safety of my little boy (and his classmates)? Should I go to the director of the program? The teacher(s)? Should I remove my son ? He just seems so much older and pretty aggressive. Help!

I am a preschool teacher and I am at my wits end with two children. They are both 3 yr old girls and clearly know no discipline at home. They are defient and disruptive and constantly say no. I have talked to the parents and each one blames it on someone or something else. One family is divorced and mom blames it on dad and one blames it on the child having a younger sibling. Both might be true but the bottom line is my class is falling apart. What can I say to these parents to make them listen?

It starts out "open and shut, open and shut, this is the way we cut, cut, cut." It also has a line about "Fingers on the bottom and thumb on the top" and I can't remember the rest of it! If you know the words, I would love to use it for a lesson on using scissors! I already tried googling with no luck.

I am looking for a daycare in Warner Robins, GA. I have been a stay at home mom for 6 years and am now going to work. I need a daycare that I can trust. I have went and looked in some of the chains and just turn around and walk out. They have been run down and old looking. I just can't get past the look. So if anyone can recomend someone or somewhere that will do the best for my child I would be indebted.

Typical attention-seeking man, "I'm ill ladies, shower me with sympathy because when I'm ill it's worse for me than a cold is for anyone else!"

I volunteer at a Head Start Center twice a week teaching Art. This is my 1st encounter with this problem.

In the past, I've had students that ate all sorts of things including: paste, chalk, earwax, erasers, pencils, water colors, fingernails, crayons, mucus (a.k.a. snot), dirt, mud, bugs, string, their hair, cuffs &/or collars on shirts, gum, but this is a new one on me.
