yes i agree the going rate is about $10 to $15 per half hour lesson :)

No more than $15 for a half hour lesson. You should be able to find them at a much lower price from a college student though. Check out your local college's music department. Some colleges have a program where their music education students give lessons.
I took lessons about ten years ago and it was about $7 for a half hour.

I would continue with her monthly with two hours at a time but maybe also find another teacher at a local music store that doesn't charge too much and take weekly lessons just to stay fresh with the music and guide you throughout the time your not seeing your current teacher
