I was accepted into my first choice college, but was not offered any scholarships or financial aid. No other school can offer me the same opportunities as this college, but I plan on becoming a journalist and will not have much money to pay off college loans. My dad (who is extremely conservative and feels it is his "duty" to pay for his children) said he will cover the cost of my education, but will be simultaneously paying my $40,000 tuition, my brother's $35,000 tuition, and my other brother's $30,000 tuition. I know he does not have the money for this, but have not found a single scholarship I am even elligble for! I have tried to convince him to let me take out the loans for my education, but he won't let me. I'm considering chagning schools simply because of the cost, but as I said I can't get the same opportunities anywhere else.

Any suggestions? And please, do not recommend Fastweb or any related sites, they have proved useless so far.

Im doing a drama exam next week and my group are crap they havent been bothered to do anything, i have bought all props and music-EVERYTHING and it has cost quite a bit of money, and its out of my pocket money. I dont mind buying things at all but they havent done nothing, not even learnt their lines, they smashed my wine glasses (accidental) but thats not the point. Should I make them share the cost out equally between the group, because i have purchased absolutley EVERYTHING!

I have two young friends who are talking about going to school for this. They already have the basics of welding down. Learned at a Job Corps center. Every place seems so expensive and these guys have nothing. I'd love to find them some scholarships rather then them trying to use student loans (which I think is an awful idea!) They can travel. Thanks!

Ive been fighting at school recently the guy was a complete jerk who was teasing me even though I had done nothing to him.He deserved to be hit in my point of view to teach him a lesson.Only problem is this time I got caught and have been told by my schools headmaster that if Im caught fighting again I'll be suspended whats the next best way to deal with these situations?
Also we both got punished this time even though he'd been teasing me for about a week we were both given the same punishment is that right?

My husband is a history professor and he has applied for a new job. He sent his application in 2 weeks ago and I keep telling him to follow up with the committee to check his status. He says that in the Academic World follow up is STRICTLY prohibited! He said that he will not call and that I should not call either. Can someone tell me if this is true? Why can't my husband call the Chair of the hiring committee and follow up on his application or to show interest in the position being offered?

How many people heard way back in grade school, "you need to learn the metric system because it'll be the standard when you grow up". Well in the states it isn't. Why do we insist on keeping an archaic arbitrary system? All of the sciences use the metric system, most of the rest of the world uses the metric system. What's our problem?

I need help with the flow etc...Are you up to the challenge?

You have my heart in your hands
Grasp it gently, sincerely, and it shall remain
Grasp it too lightly, and it may fall through you fingertips
Take me seriously, take me away with you

Grip it tautly, but not …
Everytime you talk, you touch my heart
Everytime you smile, my breath escapes me
You have my heart, luckily just a piece
For fate has stricken, it has smitten me down
My heart that

You hold my heart in your hands
Hold it lightly, for we tread on hallow ground
Too loose and itll fall from your grasp
Too tightly and

I was homeschooled for all 4 years of highschool, I got to graduate early, i still had prom, Field-Trips, cap & gown graduation ceramony with my schoolhouse classmates(i recived a state accreidited diploma), and a class ring.....
by school house i mean, the people i meet at tutorial session, and meetings, field-trips.

I never missed out on anything socially, i have good comunication skills and i have above average SAT scores...

I went through an agency, wich provided you information to a schoolbook seller(grade apropriate) Attendance sheet, grade scale, and testing for all subjects, Tutoring session, and it was a great experience, and fun

Question is:
Do you think homeschooling is a bad thing?
If so why?

I know that Public health officers deal with battling AIDS etc, but what about other diseases like cancer and heart attack?.

How can a Person combine Public health and Social work?. Can a Public Health worker do other work un-related to Health by getting into the field of Social work?...like helping people without homes etc.

This is my problem - I like to help people and do community work etc, but my main interest is to do something related to health. I want to be involved in Health PLUS other issues and help people. Is this possible with a joint degree in Public health and Social work? and how?

Thanks

The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy announced last week that it will be holding four regional summits promoting random student drug testing in public middle and high schools of the test for cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, opium-based substances, oxycontin and, in some cases, steroids.

In my opinion, it is humilating
