Is this woman going too far in protesting? I read in a local paper : Her son and his grade 5 school mates were taught a yoga position at school. She began to protest the teaching of religious practice at school due to the fact that yoga is apparently a religious Hindu methood of relaxation and meditation.
Do you think she was going too far in protesting this? Or is she right on the ball?
Personally I dont think there is an issue with teaching the yoga..as long as it is used as an exercise to promote strength and ability not religion. ...although I dont condone prayer and the teachings of the "christian, Catholic..etc..god(s)" in school. Being pagan myself I dont believe that should be taught in schools either.
Religion I believe should be taught at home.

There seem to be an insane number of young people who have NO idea how their bodies work and how to avoid getting pregnant, or how to tell if they are. I had 3 sex ed courses by the time I was a freshman in highschool, then a whole section on reproduction in 10th grade Bio. I'm not even from a "liberal" area, so I was just wondering how all these people are so clueless about how things work.

I am writing and reading voraciously in order to write better. However, when I read what I have written, I see that I lack in many thing. For instance, when I write my opinion of blah book, I see that the context of my writing isn't deep. I write journal everyday and I feel I'm not enhancing my writing skills. What can I do? is there any guide that I can follow? This is crucial to be because I want to study in the states. I can't cope with this and I am really I am scared i won't progress much further.

The honors Chemistry class at my high school is really difficult. All of my friends who have taken it have had to stay up late every night and work really hard to pass this class. I'm not that interested in science, so I really don't want to take the class, but my councilor says if I want to get into an out of state collage I have to take chemistry. Should I take the class?

so next year im going to highschool and i need to select my courses for the year and i am having trouble choosing. i asked my parents, brother and friends but they were no help. im taking spanish 2 in hs and idk what my other one should be. its between computer literacy/computer applications or foods... i mean your freshman year i don't think that will matter too much about serious courses. i want to take foods cause i want to try somehting new. but my brother and my dad recommned i do computer literacy/applications. but i already know about computers and i don't want it to be a boring class. its for the full year too

theres a point in life when people just decide to stop screwin up. im a junior in high school and im doing soo bad. i always run a way from my rpoblems by not going to school. i leave and just start hanging with old friends that are were in high school and graduated. they tell me to just stay in school. the problem is that when i do stay in school its like everyone puts the bad things ive done in my face. for example when i ask a teacher for help because obviously i need help because i havent been there, they say "you shoulve come to school" I HATE THAT! it makes me feel worse! and then the cycle comes again. and i start doing the same thing. not going to school.im not going anywhere with this. i know that. im just hurting myself. but i really want to get my life back together. what should i do? i guess it all acumulates, since im doing bad, i feel bad then i dont go to school and it just makes it worst, and then wen i go, well yeah you guys know what happens when i go? please help!

I am currently in high school and I've had one of those "sling" backpacks for about a year or 2 already and its starting to tear.

I would appreciate it you guys would let me know what are some good backpacks out there for high schoolers that would last a long time, has a good/fashionable look, and is comfortable to wear. It would be great if you could find a picture of it too.
