Hey, I started high school this year, and I'd just like to say, it isn't nearly as bad as it seems. After all, it's just school. Not much will change in your freshman year. Once you become a sophomore or junior, that's when you really need to start thinking about colleges and classes and things, but freshman year isn't that different from middle school, just more challenging, with a lot more options available to you. So freshman year will help you ease into the rest of high school.
I know what you mean, about "losing" your childhood. Don't worry, high school can be a lot of fun. My advice is to DO as much as you can. Don't bog yourself down with too much homework or extra classes (though they are, admittedly, always a good thing), and have fun. There won't be any social drama that you can't handle, if you're just respectful of your new classmates and teachers.
Just work hard, have fun, and remember that high school isn't all that different, in freshman year at least. I get by by hanging out with my friends whenever I can. They keep me sane xD, and high school friends are friends for life.
Hope that helps
~from a fellow mini-highschooler =)

I absolutely hated my high school so I understand your dilemma.
My high school was a parochial Catholic School and there were only 96 kids in my graduating class and the cliques were horrible.
I survived by ignoring it all and the kids.
I studied hard, worked part-time and had a life outside of school and friends.
I stayed to myself pretty much, opting to eat lunch outside and away from the other kids, and I'd read a lot.
Once I bought a car, I escaped and usually went home for lunch.
I did have a few friends in high school, and have remained in contact with a couple of them all these years.
My hard work paid off, too, as I went onto college, graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and achieved success at a job that I love, plus the pay is lucrative!
Funny thing, last year was a 30 year reunion for my class and I was quite tempted to attend, until I discovered that the same cliques still existed!
There was no way that I wanted to see the very people who made my life hell and I actually laugh about it, that these people still belong to the same cliques. Losers!
Hang in there....it's not that bad and just ignore the drama and the cliques.

High school doesn't have as much drama as you might think.
But if it turns out yours does, it can only suck you in if you let it. Just sit back, relax, and watch every else freak out over things that don't matter. Realize that in the grand scheme of things high school is a very small portion of your life. In a few years you won't remember most of it, and everyone else who went to your school with you will by that time be in prison.

Be who you're. Love what you do, do what you adore. Get the appropriate training you could and attempt to rrememberthat you remember, not the cliches, etc. I hated HS, yet discovered to administration and ignore relating to the crap and the nasties. i think which you're already years forward interior the words of your training. you're there to get the credit you will desire to get that degree and get directly to college. examine and notice if there are twin enrollments w/ a community community college or college. Take the instructions you prefer, which i think are levels forward of something of the pupil physique. I won't lie and say that's going to be ok, simply by fact little ones would properly be sooo nasty. shop your dignity and don't downplay your intelligence EVER!!!! have self assurance in your self and be who you're!!!!

I went to college! I started in the 7th grade, and by the time I was in high school, I only went for half a day each day. I graduated early as well. I'm VERY glad I didn't spend much time there. I highly recommend that you do the same.

i'm in my junior year, and it's really not that hard. Make the rights friends, and u'll get by it like it's a breeze. I didn't hang out with the 'popular' crowd but i managed to stay friends with bona-fide friends that are loyal and fun to hang around.

become extremely cynical. I hated everyone and in all actuality that made alot of people like me. I didn't really get it. I was a pretty big jerk, yet I had so many friends. Go figure.
