draw round a child & let everyone stick coloured paper on to make a lifesize collage....label eyes/ears/arms etc

give each child a pic of eyes to colour in according to colour of their own to make a simple graph

let them paint a self-portrait

this site is useful: http://www.bigeyedowl.co.uk/ for early years

How early? Cut out v basic people shapes - head arms legs body about A3 or A4 size. Get the children to colour in trousers and pullovers and hair NOT FACES (too hard and unnecessary) then draw a long bookshelf with books and stick your sihouettes in front (write names underneath if you want) . It will look cute, be appropriate and take up loadsaroom and yes I have taught a reception class!

If I understand the question, how about pictures showing birth digression, from the egg to the newborn? Something that shows the progression of egg to newborn each week?
An Ob/Gyn might have a booklet. I had one from my Doctor when I was pregnant with my second child, so I could show my daughter she was having a sibling?

get the parents to bring in pictures of the childs family, display them and put questions around the board ie similarities, differences, whose in our family, alternatively draw around children, cut out shape and get all children to do eye colour, hair colour etc ,again make a point of lokking for differences and similarities, take pictures too, digital cameras are a god send, get kids to help with that too.

Get the kiddies to use mirrors to study themselves and to talk about thier facia lfeatures, skin/hair coulourings etc. then get them to paint self portraits. (use skin colored paints if possible)
dont matter if thier to young to do representational pictures whatever they create will be thier own representation of themselves. it will be a lovely display.
(use black backing paper on display board for the pictures to really stand out) good luck...x
