My daughter is about to start kindergarten and my fiancée and I are having a debate on where to send her. He believes Private school because the education is better. I believe if you want to learn, you will learn no matter where you are if you put forth the effort. As a parent, you make sure that your kid gets the best opportunity possible. Now we are both public school protégées and I am working on my second degree and I've been teaching 12th grade since I was 21 and I am now 25. He also holds a good job. Do you guys think the school makes the person or the person makes the school?

I am the Boss over a lot of people that speak Portuguese, and Spainish. I would like to know more than the few words I know.
It would just be nicer for all of us if I could say something more than "good Morning" or "good night" . Well of course they all speak English!! I'm the dumb one here! And I'm Their Boss!

During the three summer months between new school years, do you still hold the title of the grade you just completed? Or do you automatically upgrade to the grade you are going into when the next school year starts? I just finished the 10th grade in June, so am I a sophomore? Or a Junior, since I am going into the 11th grade in 2 weeks?? Just wondering, b/c when people ask me what grade I'm in, I tell them all that, b/c I don't want them assuming I am in a grade lower than I actually am....

I am going into High School, and I am taking three honors classes (one two semesters long) and the rest are advanced classes, does anyone who took honors classes remember if like the homework was unbearable and did you have a life outside of school? I dont want to just be studying all day, I have a lot of friends. So do they load you up amazingly? Any examples?
