i went to a junior high school, but i have friends from other places who went to middle schools. we didn't experience any significant difference. In my school, Jr. high was 7th, 8th, and 9th grades.
they might shift the 6th grade up or the 9th grade --either way-- in different localities.
but the 2 are basically the same. The school board of a particular area picks the way they want the local school system to be divided, and they name the schools. No big deal.

Both will tell you how to spell the word "School" . That has brought back memories of the Geoffrey Willans and Ronald Searle Molesworth books!
"This is me e.g. Nigel Molesworth, the curse of St. Custards which is the skool I am at"

They are the same. Except for some years ago they added sixth graders and it became middle school. B/c it's in the middle between primary and secondary schooling. Before it was Jr. High and it was seventh and eighth graders.

Well for starters it is more like how you behave and play with others then how you did when you were in middle school. Another is you get more serous about your education and, what you want to do in your life. Reality hits you harder

There is no difference between either, where I'm from. They're just different names for the same thing.
