If you had to do it all over again, would you go to that school or switch to public school? I've been asking myself that question a lot in the last few days and I have a list of pros and cons for each scenario, but I wanted to hear other opinions.

Gal on a jet- They gave the elementary students swats at my school too and we wore dresses or skirts mid-knee or longer. The guys had to wear ties on Chapel Day each week. How old fashioned!

I attended a private Christian elementary school, but then switched to a public school. Back when I attended, the Christian school was more advanced than the public schools, but I read a couple weeks ago that now across America (don't know which country you reside in), private schools are on par or below public schools. So in general, the only true advantage that a private Christian school has is that it teaches Christianity. Depending on the school, one could still be exposed to all the immorality a public school has to offer, because some Christian schools have a high rate of non-Christian students.

I'm still traumatized by my sixth grade year at a Baptist School. We had to wear dresses everyday and get on our knees infront of the headmaster so that he could verify that our skirts were long enough. They were allowed to paddle high school students and my teacher told me that my best friend who was Catholic was going to hell because she wasn't a true Christian. Maybe that's why I'm Agnostic now and wouldn't be caught dead going to a religious college. I think you have a more diversified education at a public school which is important.

I grew up in a catholic school, with one year at a public school. If I had to do it all over again, I would still go to the catholic school. I learned alot more than kids my age in public schools, and came out better for it.

I went to college for 2 semesters at a church of Christ oriented university, and I would have went to a state school instead of the private one. I go to a state funded school now and love it 100 times better than church school.

I did many moons ago and let me tell ya! They were a bunch of hipocritical, naive, bible thumping boobs! Still worshipping the Lord as ancient, medieval, ignorant man did! If everyone followed their philosophy we would still be riding horses and believing the earth was flat!
