Ok so my hw says Fill in the blank using an appositive,

It gives an example, The War on Terrorism, _________, makes it seems like terrosrism is an enemy that can be located and defeated.

The answer to that was given as

The war on terrorism, an "overarching metaphor," makes it seem like terrorism is an enemy that can be located and defeated.


Then it tell me to do it with

CNN,________, regularly uses war metaphors. (Rename CNN)

How am I soppused to rename CNN???

alright so i was injured and am unable to participate in gym at school....however dropping the class is not an option since i need the credits to graduate, so my teacher wants me to do something to earn the points so today he told me i had to write a 14 page paper on some activity, which leaves way too much open. i have NO idea what to write about, do any of you have any bright ideas? please help! thanks so much!

I need some help with writing the first sentence of the body paragraphs for my Lord of the Flies essay.

My thesis sentence is something like this:
Golding’s belief that the ruin of society came from within the individual is clearly shown in man’s tendency to let fear destroy rational thought, man’s innate desire to have power over others, and man’s attraction to violence. {got to fix that later, but it's going to be something like this}

I don't know how to start off the topic sentence. Any ideas?

I've used the phrase "will be discussed" twice in the same paragraph and it looks bad. I've tried using the "synonyms" thingy on microsoft word, but it's not helping...

Basically, I'm writing an introduction.. And I have "First, the reasons sales taxes on food is wrong will be discussed. After that, the sales taxes in each state and what is being done about food taxes will be discussed."

It just sounds bad cause I used it twice.. Please help me!

Each quarter I have to write an independent writing project. It is the 3rd quarter now. The peice can be about anything and in any form, but I would prefer not to do poetry because I'm working on another piece that's poetry. I am writing a research paper on the causes of the Civil War. I know almost everyone is going to say slavery, but that really wasn't the MAIN cause although it was a major issue.

I have already got state's rights, unfair legislative representation, and high tariffs...but if anyone would like to add more ideas or contribute to the ones already listed that would be great.
