Hi. First, let's just do the easiest example. What would 100% of 110 be? 110, right? 100% of anything is exactly that. It's all of it. But here they ask for more than 100%, they want 270%! Ok, so what might you say 200% is? 200% is twice of 100%, right? So 200% is twice of something. Do you see a pattern here? 100% of something is like saying "1 times, or one of, something", and 200% is saying "2 of, or 2 times something". If we wanted to get 300%, we'd have "3 of, or 3 times something" so here it would be 3 times 110, or 330.
But wait a sec, what about 270%? We know it must be more than 200% but less than 300%, so we have an idea that the answer should be between 220 (which is 200%, or "two times 110") and 330 (which is 300%, or "3 times 110).
Whenever you have a problem that asks you a certain percent of something, first divide that by 100:
(1)270%/100=2.7 (which is 2.7 times something)
then, multiply that answer by the value:
(2) 2.7x110=297
When we asked for 100% of something, we knew it was exactly that something (110). But we could have done the calculation:
(1)100%/100=1
(2)1x110=110
So always divide the percent by 100, and multiply whatever you get by the value they ask.
It gets easier with some practice.

to find 270% of 110, you must first set up the equation
2.70 (times) 110= X
2.70 is because when trying to find a percentage, you have to move the decimal in by 2 places, and you multiply that by 110 so you can find the percentage itself, and X would be the answer
so you solve the equation
2.70*110=X
and you get:
X=297
hope i helped!

270% OF 110? Well first change 270 into a decimal (2.70) then since "of" means to multiply, multiply 2.70 x 110

The Animal Psychiatrist is almost right. But the decimal point is in the wrong place. 270% is 2.70, not .270.

What exactly do you mean "do 270%"? Do you mean to multiply something by 270%?
