Is there a difference between a regular textbook and an international edition? I want to resell my "Life-Span Development" book, but the ISBN # 0071116443 isn't coming up. I looked up the title and found the book (with a different picture on the cover) under ISBN# 0073194174. Can I re-sell this on Amazon/Ebay under the non-international ISBN or would that be considered misrepresentation?

Really want to go to USC because it's right here pretty close to me and it is a great business school but thinking that maybe going far from LA for a while would be a good experience but would also be leaving everyone I know behind while I'm in school. I need opinions from the outside.

I was wondering if there are other means beside going to graduate school to getting your ph.d? For example, if I were to right a thesis outside university and submit it to for example the International Mathematics Union and I've presented a good theory. Will the university be impressed and reward me a doctorate degree for my achievements? I'm not saying I'm a genius or anything like that I was just curious, if theres another way to get a ph.d besides going through graduate school. Thanks

In the application, it says I should "represent" myself -- in other words, this letter (only 400 words) should reveal who I am and what I'm about). And yet, I think I should sound a little "academic". I don't have a lot of concrete stuff to say (ie, I haven't won any prizes or anything...).

Does anyone know what really impresses the univerities? What should I say? Perhaps more importantly, HOW should I say it?

Thank you!!!!

I am looking into starting work on my MBA in the Fall, but I have heard conflicting stories about life after the MBA. Some say it is completely worth it, while others say that it hasn't helped them at all. I'm just curious what other's experiences have been.

I'm a student pursuing becoming a pediatrician, and a bio major. I'm the first to go to college in my family, so i'm not very sure about the differences in which paths I should take in order to fulfill that goal. After receiving my B.A degree, I'm still confused on what the pros and cons are, and the differences between going to grad school and receiving a master's and going straight into med school...

Too many highly educated people migrate to USA, with the hope of getting a job intheir fields, but most end up doing odd jobs. I am an architect by profession who migrated to the USA about four years ago, and can still not find a job in my field, cant sit for my liscense as I was told that I do not have American experienceand need to do an internship, despite my Masters and proof of a final year PhD.
