The main branch is just a hop, skip, and jump from Knoxville in a place called Dandridge. They have schools set up all over the country so anyone wanting to can get an education there and the cost is directly relative to the course you take. Literally.....Best part is you don't even have to fill out an application to enter...They have a representative at just about any corner you turn and it is totally up to you whether to accept their offer or walk away. Also don't let yourself get confused between hard knocks and Fort knox which is a state away from knoxville in Ky. I have an AS, a BS, Master's, and a Doctorate from the School of Hard Knocks and I'm proud of it. It actually has helped me in my career also and keeps me on my toes as I have to go for refresher courses just as people with a lot of different types of degrees do to keep up on what's happening in their field. Being an alumni and on the Board of Directors of the school I will be glad to accept any donations you would like to give so others might be able to learn from the school as well. I do accept, cash, cashier's check, and money orders and will be glad to write you a receipt for your generous donation. If you donate within the next 2 weeks you will also be eligible for our Hard Knocks-Dumb as Rocks package which means not only will you get the receipt, but will as well get a certificate stating you are an honorary member of the School of Hard Knocks, Ky branch, and you will have a rock in my yard officially named in honor of anyone you choose. But hurry.....while supplies last....And remember, only one rock per donation....Thanks and good luck.......

School of hard knox isn't really a school. The School of Hard Knocks is an imaginary school whose program of study consists only of the practical knowledge imparted by life experience. Facetiously given as a credential when one lacks actual academic credentials, poking fun at higher education to emphasize the value of one's accumulated wisdom. In the UK, the phrase 'University of Life' may be used interchangeably.
For example:
Moe: I'm a Harvard man myself. Where do you hail from?
Joe: Well, Moe, I will have you know I have a degree from the School of Hard Knocks.
The popular notion that life experience or "training" from the "School of Hard Knocks" is equivalent to formal education is often exploited by diploma mills.

I think it is by Knox Berry Farm. But no one goes there anymore. It is too crowded. At least that has always been the knock against it. Great answer by Craig H. Makes me want to apply.

The school of hard knocks is the school of life's experiences. It's a metaphor for life's more challenging experiences.
The quality of the education retained by the hard knocks received depends how hard the knocks have been and how willing or not one is to commit the same error.
Those who do not learn from their experiences are doomed to repeat them.

you get the best education there, unfortunately there are no teachers, its a hands on learning method and its a study at home university. It has nothing to do with KNOCK KNOCK jokes. The trouble with that method of learning is , you cannot share what you have learned as everybody else is blindly going to the same school,,,,,,,,,,,,,tuition is free, but the lessons are priceless!!!!!!!!!
