first child going to college and the governemnt has money for everyone else but the middle class. this upsets me and i have to work 2 jobs as does my husband to just help my child pay for college. let alone, my second child will be entering college next year and where is all the money to be found for their education. does a parent lie and say things so that the government will help like they would for someone else? I don't feel comfortable about that and feel that as a working class citizen who pays taxes should get the upper advantage for grants or financial help? Help Me?

FAFSA beleives my parents can afford to pay $13000 for my college. But they do not take into account the amount of bills my parents owe money on. Maybe if my parents were poor and did not choose to get an education and work hard, I could go to college for free.

He was invited to attend BYU and a party offered to pay his tuition, books et al. This person told us this a year ago and we wait! I home schooled him or rather he has schooled me tremendously. My problem is paying for this kind of education. The US needs goal directed, self-directed young people desperately and I've got one!

He wants to work in Internation Law or practice law in some capacity. He is also brilliant in history, writing and medical studies. It is a WASTE for a childs' mind to be lost due to financial concerns. CactusLil'

Doesn't have to be federal, perhaps other organization offer such services. Or other programs designs to help pay off student loan debt.

I am one year away from an associate degree in accounting and am considering transferring to get a bachelor's degree. One of my funding sources will end after I get my two-year degree, and I am looking for any and all funding I can possibly get for tuition, books and living expenses.

Any and all suggestions will be welcomed.

I know it's not going to be easy, I don't even like school, but I need to make a better life for myself. Do they have counselors at colleges to help people like me?

I have been a stay at home mom for 13yrs. My kids are now old enough to where I feel comfortable enough to now continue my education. I want to go to collage or trade school and I have no idea how to get funding for these things. I have known plenty of single moms who got it all covered. We have three kids & I am married. But with that said, we only make about 32k. We are way below the line for a family of five. Any ideas for attainting legitimate scholarships or grants? Our credit isn’t the greatest so I don’t believe a loan will work. And moms out there go through this before?

Up until this year, I had signed up for financial aid using my mother's income which is very low. I've gotten a full ride every year and had extra money left over. This year I was able to apply as an independent student, and barely got enough financial aid to cover my tuition. What gives? I called financial aid and they said that was correct. How is this possible when there was more money made between my mom and I in previous years than what I made alone last year? It doesn't make any sense to me. Now I have to take out hella student loans.

My credit rating was rotten to the core two months ago. I paid most of them off and now I am considered "fair". I took advantage of this and leased a brand new Jeep. Aprx 400 a month. Is this a practical move or am I going at it too fast. I only make maybe 15000 a year. I don't pay any rent because I take care of a motel. I've been told to "slow down"! 36 months is a long time! What do you think?

I am currently going back to college online. I have bad credit and have already applied for the Pell grant. I need to buy a new computer (I am using the public library computer) and I also need to cover some tuition costs. Anyone know of a loan company willing to help. I am desperate. I have already tried Spheron, Prosper, and Citifinancial among others. I am working now, so I have no problem paying it back. I need help now. I start on August 10.
