They can not but they can push it through the military to garnish your wages to pay your bills. Most companies that work with military members know that it is frowned upon to get collection letters in the mail, especially to the commanding officer for one the members in his unit, it is a chargeable offense under the UCMJ to not pay your bills.

They can't but if they sue you and the judge can.
