Financial Aid

I don't want to go the Student Loan route. I'm also looking online for private grants and scholarships. I live in Louisiana and plan to attend school there as well. My intended major is English (focus on creative writing). If anyone knows of any private benefactors or charitable foundations who fund higher education, please let me know. Thank You!

ok well i made a mistake of taking out a personal loan for school and living expenses i paid off school paid off rent for a year and got a car.. well the car died, so i had to sell it and get a new one then that one died and i had to borrow money from my mother to get a new one and beleive me these cars were not worth fixing both needed new engines. so anyways i work at a crappy pizza joint and i only make $7.00/hr i just got pulled over the other night and got 3 tickets expired tags, no proof of insurance, and busted tail light, all none moving violations but i still have no money to renew my car get insurance pay all the fines and pay rent, & utilities this month with only doing 25 hours a week at 7.00/hr i really dont know what to do i have very poor credit from all the loans i got for school and my mothers already sent me thousands of dollers is there any advice? or should i just find a better paying job?

Where is the best place to look for academically based scholarships??? I already know about collegeboard, and scholarship help, and fastweb....I'm looking more for the ones that arent first in all the search ingines and ones that I, a student with a 4.0 gpa, is nearly guaranteed to win. HELP!!!

I will be attending my junior year of college this spring. My Army benefits are taking care of my tuition for the time being. I will have to move to where i am going to school and get a small apartment to rent. So here's my question:

If I want to focus all my time on my studying, can I pull a student loan to pay for my apartment rental while in school, so that I dont have to work this year atleast until i get settled in and find out what my daily activities will be like?

Hi guys, I'm looking for any information I can on grants and student loans. I'm a first timer on this, and being 25... it's a lot harder now than it would have been years ago. Parents wont help or co-sign so i'm wondering if anyone else has any idea where I can get a grant or loan to cover the other $15,000 needed for me to get my AA. It's for graphic design and multimedia if that helps at all.
When you're alone on it, putting yourself through college is pretty much one of the hardest things to do, so any advice at all would be wonderful. Thank you all!
