Where is the best place to look for academically based scholarships??? I already know about collegeboard, and scholarship help, and fastweb....I'm looking more for the ones that arent first in all the search ingines and ones that I, a student with a 4.0 gpa, is nearly guaranteed to win. HELP!!!

I would have to agree with the first answerer. Your best bet is the more well-known sites; they're definitely legit and won't give you ridiculous scholarships to go for. I would try looking up any state based scholarships, or if you're a minority student, find a minority scholarship website. Academically speaking, 4.0 won't guarantee anything. I'm in college right now, and know about financial aid packages and acceptances. I don't want to put you down or worry you, but you'll need more than grades to get you into places and get you scholarships and the good packages. Also, make sure you file your FAFSA as early as possible and send it into the schools of your choice, it'll ensure that you're considered first off for the grants and work study options. Good luck!

Do not forget to apply for merrit based aid with the college or university that you apply for. Some schools have a good alotment for it and can give full ride scholarships.
Also, some states do have merrit scholarship programs. 35 states has a college application web page which includes filling out an application and also filing for financial aid minus the FAFSA.ed.gov form.
Both the high school guidance office (if a currently a high school student) and college financial aid website will list scholarships available. The high school one will provide information on local scholarships.
I have included some specific scholarship programs and some free membership scholarship search websites.
FAFSA.ed.gov will help you tap into both federal and a college's financial based grants.
Remember to pay attention to the application deadlines and apply well before it.

Sorry but yo grades won't win scholarships so there's no need to brag. . .cuz I got a 4.17 biotch (joking) , anyways if you do go a hidden scholarship search engine it won't be that good and you'll most likely get the same results as Fastweb

well there is the walmart scholarship...I did that one it was easy and I got $1000 for tuition...there are a lot of scholorships for minorities...type that in yahoo...or if you are in school activities find scholarships realted to that....
example. If you were in a drama club, type in performance art scholarships. ..
most scholarships now expect more that brains....they want to see how um...well rounded you are....or how well you muiltitask and handle stress and other stuff like that...plus you must have the greatest recomemdation letters so get someone who can really promote you, and the essay is everything...if you don't have community servce ...the essay is going to save you..maybe....so it has to be proof read by ten different people....
