I will be attending my junior year of college this spring. My Army benefits are taking care of my tuition for the time being. I will have to move to where i am going to school and get a small apartment to rent. So here's my question:

If I want to focus all my time on my studying, can I pull a student loan to pay for my apartment rental while in school, so that I dont have to work this year atleast until i get settled in and find out what my daily activities will be like?

Get all the federal student loans (Stafford loans) you are eligible for by filling out the FAFSA and coordinating with your financial aid office. Federal student loans have the lowest interest rates and most generous repayment options

Private student loans (credit-based loans offered by banks, credit unions, etc.) can be used for housing, transportation, living expenses, etc. and can still sometimes be tax-deductible. Sallie Mae offers the Tuition Answer loan for just this purpose.

Be VERY conservative in what you borrow - only absolutely what you need, because you will have to pay it back.

i dont know dude, thats a though question to think about, to understand. well im joining the coast guard and doing it all while enlisted, so i think you shoud do the same, but your only probem is yo wanting to join the us army,. so. with that in mind, i think you should join first, and find time later, i mean you have time, you can take college if you cant find time in army, you can do it when you retire from the army?

you can get stafford loans, subsidized ( no interest accrues ) and unsubsidized (intrest accruing) and dont have to pay them back until you graduate as long as u are in school. freshmen $2,600 sub and $4,000 unsub total for the year.
