Me and my mom are moving to Oregon from California and I will be attending college there. I know you have to be in the state for 12 months (according to University of Oregon). I am moving in Dec. which means I will have been there about 8 months when I start school. Does anyone know when exactly I can start claiming residency? Do I have to wait to the next school year or can I whenever the 12 months ends? I am trying to estimate actual tuition cost. Any info would be great.

I went to a community college thanks to a pell grant and I earned 18 credit hours.I went to community college again to take some remedial courses that was also payed with by a pell grant but this time I had to move to texas during the schoolyear and was unable to drop the classes because they were payed with pell grant.

I am not sure how much I owe but I and my family are very broke,I am not sure what to do,the Grant was for like 2 grand and I have no way to pay that back if thats the full amount I have to payback.I do know I owe the college 400 dollars and they wont even let me release my transcripts until then.

I am so confused,I filled out a Fafsa and got a EFC of 00000 so I think I am good on that part but if I dont have the money to repay the Pell Grant will I be able to get a Stafford Loan or with that cause an issue

Thanks So Much,
Danny

After six years at my job, the plant is closing. I went to school part time for 5 years working towards a degree in bioengineering and couldn't get any help because I made literally a couple bucks over the cutoff, so I worked full time to support myself and my now 9 year old daughter. I felt like a failure because even though I put clothes on her back and a roof over her head and was trying to better our lives......I missed the soccer games. The school parties. Her gymnastics opens. I worked all day, went to school at night, and every free moment was homework. Is there any other way???

Are there any good websites out there that give out pretty decent scholarships or grants to those who want to study abroad?

Right now I work full time and I have made so much I KNOW I wont get any fin aid. I applied FAFSA on line the said no way. The thing is all I make goes to bills. I pay rent, elect, water, gas, food, car insur, cell (I have no home phone), some meds (nothing serious but I need them), old student loans, gas and tolls to get to work I have nothing. Not like I could be paying for school. I live in Orlando, FL. I dont think I could live on the loans and a part time job. Loans would take up most of tuition, books and then my bills for a yr would not be enough. No I can not live with my parents. My parents have never helped me and I know they still cant. I feel a little hopeless. I know there are scholarships but I really dont qualify for a lot considering I am a white fem with no kids and do not want to be a teacher. Plus I have been working full time. I have a two yr and only have 2 left, is there any thing I can do? Would student loans cover $1900 a month plus tuition and books all yr?

I had a messy move out of my parents house, and now I want to go to school and can't because I'm having trouble with the FAFSA. I need my mothers financial information and I dont know where she's at or how much she makes. Is there a way to fill it out without her information?

I was wondering if there is a way I could apply for a government grant to buy a home, buy a car, business, ect... All I really find is people wanting outrageous amounts of money to help.

Yesterday i was looking back into my old school days and a face suddenly appeared before me.

He was a poor boy. His father was a big drinker indeed and died soon. His mother could hardly manage bread and butter.

She could not pay his school fee for 2 months. She begged headmaster for free education but headmaster apologized and struke off that boy from school.

I still think that that was a justified action by headmaster?
