Hi there,
Your credit doesnt matter when it comes to student loans..(as long as its a stafford or direct loan)
I work with a company called Student Aid Lending, we do both student loan origination, as well as student loan consolidation...
My compmay is nationwide, and we are administered by the Department of Education... They regulate the entire process from start to finish...
You are most likely being denied bnecause they are trying to qualify you for the wrong type of loans.. I hear this alot from companies like sallie mae and nelnet... You need to speak with a compnay like mine that will lend to any student in need of money for college..
When you have a chance, contact me either by email or phone, and then i can help you through the process..
If you would like, you could also check us out online..

Look forward to hearing from you!

Most, if not all, private student loans are credit-based. The Student Loan Network offers one for less-than-perfect credit (disclosure, I work for them) but to be honest, it comes with less-than-perfect interest rates and such. Make sure you file your FAFSA and get the Stafford federal student loan which is NOT credit based.

Get a job, pay off your loans. Reestablish your credit. Reapply for loans and got to school. You have learned a valuable life lesson. It takes a life time to build and maintain good credit and one moment of irresponsiblity to obtain bad credit, by bad choices. Never borrow more than you can afford. A good rule of thumb with credit is if you can't afford something today and pay cash, then you can't afford the credit card payments plus interest tomorrow. Young people these days are prone to the instant credit and they fail to think of the long term effects and responsibilities that go with the credit. Nothing you can buy on credit is worth the bad credit, bill collectors, feeling of failure etc that comes with outstanding credit debt. You can't have your cake and eat it too. You now do not have the responsible choice of attending school on credit. You must pay your bills and get credit built back up. Your school will need to be put on hold. If you were not responsible enough to guard your credit, I am sorry to say that you would most likely do the same thing with school work and grades etc. You need to get mature and be resonsible before you start a college or secondary education, which requires many responsible decisions.

find a job that reimburses you to go to school. thats what i did (they did partial reimbursement) and graduated with no debt and soon after quit that job. many entry level office jobs will reimburse you. other than that, cut back on your spending. eat cheaply (think ramen noodles), i didn't go out for like 3 years, i'm making up for it now! but its a whole lot better than having debt to pay off when your looking for a job! i'd rather enjoy my time than be suffering still. it took me like 7 years to go part time (to an expensive major university) but i did it on my own with no loans.

Good luck. They told me I have excellent credit and I still couldn't get one bc my level of debt was just a bit too high.
