I have been hispitalized and laid off since may 2004. with bad credit, how do I aget a loan for college? Or other personal loans, grants or housing? I can't afford medications, doctor's visits and rent. I applied for SSDI (Social Security, but declined). Please help me with a good answer or contact information. Thanks.

Social security will almost always turn you down the first time..I would get a lawyer..if they don't win..they don't get paid..go to FAFSA.com..there you can apply for grants, loans, etc. it's not based on credit. also, in regards to medication, you can contact the pharmaceutical companies that make your meds and if you are below the income level (which you probably are) they will send you the drugs free..you have to have your doctor fill out some of the form..which they will do free. You can either research the drug online and see what company makes it and get their number online or the doctors should have the forms...Have you checked with the churches, and places like Salvation Army 4 help with rent..sometimes they require an eviction notice before they will help but I had a landlord once that gave me an eviction notice just so I could help . If you can't afford medication, how do you expect to pay for school? Look after yourself first instead of creating more debt.
