I am tired of bad teachers staying and good teachers going to find another job. I laso think they let some teachers work too long. The older they get the more grouchy. I wish they would let it be vote on. I also think teachers shouldnt be aloud to have their own child as a student in class. They are getting so picky about students wearing uniforms and forcing them to learn more and more ahead of time but they dont even drug teats the teachers! WHO AGREES???

I was really excited to get accepted into graduate school for this coming fall...it's been 2 years since I finished my undergraduate studies...however, once the horrible events occurred at Virginia Tech, every time I think about sitting in class, I worry about a gunman coming in and shooting at random. Every time I walk on campus now to run errands, I look at the buildings and imagine a shooting going on. It's driving me crazy. I loved campus as an undergrad, and a shooting was the farthest thing in my mind. Now it's the only thing I think about as August approaches. I'm going to a large, public university and a shooting could definitely happen here. What are the odds of being a victim in a shooting like VT? How can you prevent your chances of being shot in class? I'm going crazy worrying about this and I want desperately to feel excited when I think about school, not scared. I'm afraid my view of college campuses has been forever tainted by what happened at VT.

Ok My boyfriend Ted (33 yo) saw his ex girlfriend out and he said hi to her to break the ice, he never got closure from relationship and is happy he finally had a few words with her and got closure. Now he said he hopes maybe he can establish a "friendship" with her. I do understand hes happy he got closure but want to tell him this and want to reword it better in a sweet, nnot seeming jealous way. I can't tell him in person since he lives far away.
OK want to reword this and tell him this in a note but dont want to sound jealous- just concerned for him. Please reword what I wrote any writers or people with good grammar thanks:
I am happy for you you got closure you were seeking.. I can understand you wanted approval but now let it be that way. I want to let him know it bothers me for him to continue friendship w/ her but not seem jealous. Also want to tell him hes a good guy and want to mention that i want to focus on our growing relationship.

I am looking for single page handouts with illustrations, formulas, or at-a-glance factoids that students can just "grab and go."
Various topics: Algebra, English, American Government, A & P, Medical Terminology, general study skills, MLA format, how-to's for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, etc.
Send me some great website resources! Thank you for your help!

How much work is involved in being a humanities minor? I want to major in history and minor in humanities but I need to know how much time I should save for each one. I was going to double major but figured that I would get enough out of two, so I will just focus on one. I also want to go to med school.

Also, is it a good idea to major in History while minoring in Humanities? Or are they pretty much the same thing? I want to minor and major in two completely different subjects as long as it's not science. I plan on going to med school, therefore please no science.

Well, I have been noticing lately that a lot of girls are using this symbol in their user names.(<3) which looks like it's saying that 3 is greater than whatever else they put as their name, and it just doesn't make sense to me.

I'm an English teacher explaining "do for a living" to foreign students. That's easy, what I want to ask native English speakers out there is:

would you use the full sentence "what do you do for a living?" when speaking directly to someone?

It feels unnatural to me, an example of too-proper English or perhaps even a bit impolite, like I'm asking "how do you make your money?" It seems more right to just ask "what do you do?" when speaking directly to someone.

What do you guys think and why? Thanks for your help!

I go to college soon...and i've never taken chemistry. I'm planning on going pre-med, but i fear that this lack of knowledge will inhibit me. I take chem first semester, and figured i would prepare a little bit before hand. So, I bought the idiots guide to chemistry. However, now i have so many questions that need answering, and i feel so overwhelmed.

Is there any hope for me? I really want to make the most out of college.

I had a 4.4 gpa and a 32 on the ACT and a 2150 on the SAT (damn English!!!!) also 720 on Chem and 800 in math 2. So I will be attending USC (Southern California) this fall and plan on majoring in Chemical Engineering (Biochemical). I just finished summer classes and received A's in Chem 1 and Calc 1 ( that's all I took). If i get a 4.0 my first year do you think ill have a chance of getting in? ps im a minority (hispanic)

hey,
I know this is a horrible question to ask to an online forum, but I really need all the advise I can get. I'm about to be a sophomore at CU Boulder, and I'm considering going to the Front Range community college in my home town for a year to finish up my gen. ed. classes. The reason being it will save my parents about 10-15K. I still get to move out, and I can work full time while going to school if I go to front range! But I will have to drop out of the university and then go back next year to finish the last two years of my degree. I have the same amount of friends in both places, and it's really the same to me.

What would you guys do???
