I've read a lot about UC Santa Cruz, and it seems like the perfect place for me to go for undergraduate school (besides Berkeley). I like the education and research institutions described in several reviews of the school.
However,I am strictly anti-drug,so my only concern is how bad the Marijuana and Hippie situation is at UC Santa Cruz. I've read that it is really bad and that a tremendous amount of people are potheads or hippies. Can someone please fill me in on the details.

{A good explanation or first hand experience of the school would be very much appreciated}

Thanks,
TGG

I have a job as an educational aid for summer school.... I help a class of 7 kids all deaf or hard of hearing......

I can definitly relate to them because I too, am hard of hearing - just not so severe. I used to know sign, but as I figured I can communicate without it, I just let it slip......

I am now wanting to relearn it so communicating with the kids won't be so tough.....

Any help is appreciated

Hand it over.

I know that the understood subject is: (you) and 'Hand' is the verb, but I do not understand the functions of 'it' and 'over'. I know that they are not part of a prepositional phrase.

Here's what I have so far.

(you) | Hand

I'm reading through the questions and answers and I'm astounded by the fact that so many people misspell simple words. I especially abhor the misuse of "your" as in: "Your so cute." To all you misspellers, It's "you're" (as in "you are"). Please, don't forget. Oh, well, I guess I'm just a perfectionist.

Over the years I had won many trophies and plaques. Mostly at Car Shows, so the trophies have a car on them. They are too nice to just throw away and I am trying to get rid of all my unusable "stuff." Does anyone know of a place than can use them? Perhaps somewhere there are handicapped kids that achive something and they want to give this child some reward. I live in southwest Los Angeles area. Thank you for any ideas....

Since when does the school system own my computer? Yet, they seem to take it for granted that children can use their parent's property merely because the teacher demands it. I say, kiss my modem!

I'm hoping to study Mathematics at Cambridge. I haven't got my GCSE results yet but I'm expecting to get the following:

English - A*/A
English Literature -A/B
Maths - A*
Biology - A*
Chemistry - A*
Physics - A*/A
Religion - A*/A/B
German - A*/A/B
Latin - A*
Economics - B/C

I also have taken an OCR Additional Maths exam which I am hoping to get A or B in (no A* is available) - I've always got A in practices but in the final exam, I missed out the last question by mistake :( .

I know that a lot depends on the interview and the STEP exam but for GCSEs, are these results good enough?

I am reading a book about the "old west" with horses and chamber pots being the only clues to its time period. I think in those days, a man was addresses as "papa" or "father" and that the use of the word "dad" seems out of the period. My mother who would be 82 called her parents "Mama and Papa"
