We don't--at least not the particular schools we go to now.
We can:
Be homeschooled
Do internet school
Change schools
Go to a private school
Take some high school courses at a community college
Hire a tutor
Go to a school with a special theme (arts, science, drama, etc.)
We do need to learn--so that we are not ignorant of...everything. For that matter, learning is a life-long process--learning never stops--no one, at any age, knows everything there is to know.

If we go to school we get an education and go to a college and get into a good business and make good money so u can buy things u want and need instead of need

Education shows you the options in life. It allows you to really make choices for yourself instead of letting people manipulate you into their way of thinking.
Going to school is tough and very boring but when you get into college and get to find something right for you it is the best feeling in the world.

Home school. Do all the work in your jamies!
Oh why do we have to do ANY school work?
If you plan on staying home all your life, or working on the farm..then it probably is a waste of your time..(only in USA it is illegal to drop out before 16)
But before you do, talk to someone who never finished H.S. who is in their 40's and see what their income is. Ask them if they feel they worked to their potential..
and one more thing, if you do decide school is such a waste..please don't ever criticize or put down those of us who paid the price and do have options because we chose to persevere!

I'm kidding. Sort of. You DO have to go to learn things you might not think you want to learn, but you actually WILL be glad you DID learn later.
Also - because it's the law.

its the law. it ensures an eduaction, no job will hire if u don[t graduate high school. It also makes a hiearchy in society. Those have more school under there belt are higher in the hiearchy. Doctors, lawyers...etc...

Because people are trying to makes us smart. Like we are are going to be perfect or something. But pretty much to learn so we wont fail in life. Thats what I think,...

i know it semms pretty dumb sometimes but school teaches us stuff we need to know to get a job like to work in NASA you need to know the constellations, about G force, and a lot stuff that you can learn in school but you need to learn A LOT of stuff to get cool jobs like that but evan jobs like that a really hard
