How does one go about picking safty schools? I want to go into medicine or architecture, and the schools that I'm looking at are very competitive, i.e. cornell, columbia, upenn, washu stl...I have a very strong academic background (top 5%, high test scores...) but am nervous about my prospects of getting into these colleges. How do I find the right safty school without screwing myself over for grad school or selling myself short. For medicine, does it matter where you go for undergrad? Sorry, I know I'm asking a lot. Thanks.

Ok so basically.
i am in 8th grade.
i have an A in English, History, Science, and French 2.
I have a B+ in P.e.
and a C in Honors Algebra 1.

I started working for some accountants, and asked what "dr" stood for, since "debit" has no "r" in it, was it from a latin-based word, they didn't know. Then, I said, "Isn't there a word, "debiture",they said there was no such word. I came home, and saw that it was not in the dictionary, but on the computer, I came up with it in an English,(American)article about workman's comp.-SO it used in America,,and I saw it in a "Latin to English" learning game....so that insinuates that it is Latin...BUT I also saw it in some French and Spanish(or Italian)website listings....so what the heck is it?and why doesn't the English dictionary recognize it, if politicians are using the word in a bill for workman's compensation...?(along with the word "additure") THANKS--p.s. Anybody remember what c/ means in Latin that makes it mean "with"?

I know they look for Law BA's, but where I am, there is no college that offers Law as a Major or Minor. So would Criminal Justice work as well to become an FBI special agent? Also as a second part to the question, what would be a good minor to follow up with?

do you think it'd be dumb to take three more classes to get a second degree just for the sake of having a second degree

when I finish my current degree I will only need

calculus II and physics II and maybe palentology
to complete a bachleors of Geology

I don't plan to go into geology but three classes isn't that much. so why not just get the degree or is that stupid and a waste of time?

I need help with my math hw... again =/

How do I convert -

5x + 6y = -3

to polar form? I know that you need to replace x and y with (r cos(theta)) and (r sin(theta)),

5 (r cos(theta)) + 6(r sin(theta)) = -3

but what do I do now?
