While exploring on the back side of the moon Professor A. Brayne has come upon a strange monolith. The monolith is sitting vertically in the middle of an unexplored lunar ravine. The professor believes the monolith may have been built by an alien civilization. To determine the height of the mysterious object, the professor uses her 36-cm-long lunar core sampler (LCS). She holds the LCS vertically out in front of her, 64 cm away from her eye, and moves toward the monolith until she sees its top just over the top of her LCS and sees its just beneath the bottom of her LCS. She paces off the distance from that point to the monolith's base and finds that it is 28 m. How tall is the monolith?

Right now I am in my first year of college and I'm currently attending a community college. Honestly, this isn't the way I picutred my college career going. I always thought of myself going to that great 4-year college since I did very well all through high school. I chose to go to this community college because it was a lot less money for the same thing, but I'm finding that I don't like it. I don't really take it seriously, I'm not sure why. Maybe I feel as if a community college isn't the real thing. I feel that maybe if I were at a 4-year college I would be happier and take it a lot more seriously. Also, I'm feeling so left out because my other friends and other people in genenral are getting that great "college experience" by living in the dorms and meeting new people. I guess my question is, do you think a 4-year college is the best thing for me?

are they the same?
im currently choosing what highschool to go to, and im really leaning toward this really good highschool with an honors program. my second choice includes an AP (advanced placement) course in the highschool, but im wondering if those are the same.

Both school offer IB (international baccalaureate), but im not interested since only a few good universities in North America recognize the program. so, my question is, are they the same? should i go ahead and take the honor classes?

Cite your sources please.

(I looked for the answer on Google and Ask, but I can't find it. I know that people didn't really like the book when it first came out, but I'm looking for a source that actually states that.)
