Does anyone know the best place to go and do physical research on communities in the chicagoland area, beginning with the birth of any given communites?

I have to use visuals for this speech so I was thinking of showing the evolution in technology. Maybe a poster with a picture of an old cell phone, compared to one used today. Same with protable music players. Just not quite sure where to begin my research, and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction! Thanks for the input!

A group in my community is going to give a scholarship to someone in the area, but I haven't lived here all of my life. I've only been here for four years as opposed to a lot of people who have been here their whole lives, but I really want the scholarship. To apply, you have to writ an essay. Is it possible for me to win if I write a really great essay? And can someone help me to do so? I'd like to look over some good examples of such technical writing, but don't know where to start... a little help, please?

I am writing an FAQ book and I have used the same several question words to begin each new question again and again. I would like some new, more creative question words to start my questions with. Do you know of any? Example: How, What, Where, When, Why, Who, how much, how many, whom, could, may, etc. Any help is appreciated? I'm running out of ideas.

three guys on a road trip decided to split a hotel for the night at $30 per night. ($10 each)The bell hop for the hotel forgot that their was a deal goin on where the three guys can get the room for $25. Well the bellhop didnt know how to split $5 between three people, so he kept $2 for hiself and gave each other guys $1 back. well now the guys paid $9 each for the room. 9 x 3 =$27 plus the $ 2dollars that the bellhop this leaves you with 29 what happened to the other dollae???

Mine has to be "onliest". I don't know why, but it just tickles me. (For interlopers, "only" is already a superlative, it doesn't require a superlative suffix). I imagine they're deriving it from "lonely".

Right now (yes I know it's late...) I'm looking for a 4 year college to transfer for the fall and looking to major in History. Does anyone know any good SUNY that is good for history major students? I hear Binghamton is good so I'm trying to send application there, but just in case it doesn't work out...
