three guys on a road trip decided to split a hotel for the night at $30 per night. ($10 each)The bell hop for the hotel forgot that their was a deal goin on where the three guys can get the room for $25. Well the bellhop didnt know how to split $5 between three people, so he kept $2 for hiself and gave each other guys $1 back. well now the guys paid $9 each for the room. 9 x 3 =$27 plus the $ 2dollars that the bellhop this leaves you with 29 what happened to the other dollae???

Each guy's wallet: paid 10 + returned 1 = paid 9 dollars
Bellhop: got 30 - gave hotel 25 - gave guys 3 = kept 2 dollars
everything evens out...

They thought they had to pay 30 so they did.
They paid 10 each okay?

But then the bellhop said "wait" and paid them 1 dollar back each.
So he refunded them 3 dollars and gave each guy 1 dollar. That still makes 27 in the bell hops hand.
then he puts 2 dollars in his own pocket which makes it 25 total.

after the 1$ refund their is only 27$ paid out.
