Describe the kind of influence you would like to have on the children and youth you would serve with City Year


I would like to become a City Year corps member to give back as much as i can to my community and
to meet new people.One of the main reason's i apply to this program is the condition of my
neighborhood.I live in Southwest Philadelphia and the neighborhood is going down hill.When i first to
the neighborhood in 1996 the area was a nice one.people felt safe to walk up and down the block ,go
tho the corner store and sit on their step late at night.This is no longer the case as the years passed
things have.Drugs and so called gangsters have turned a once safe neighborhood into a crime and
drug infested neighborhood.I have seen a young man killed twenty feet away from me and seeing
someone murderd chanes you forever.If i can inprove the community just a little bit and make it a safer
place for someone then whatever i have to do as a City Year member will be well worth it.
I would like to thinkk i could have a great iinfluence on the children that i will work with as a member
of City Year.I would like to teach them the value of hard work and perseverance. I would like the children i would serve to believe as i do that with hard work a person can become whatever they want to be.Ialso would like to be a role model for the youth i would be helping. I believe that if a good has a role model they can look up to someone who is a good example to them they will take their school work serious and take pride in their work.These things i feel will help me help the children grow as well as help myself grow.

I'm a middle school teacher at a private school right now, but just can't stand my job anymore because of the mean rich parents who think they own the place and like to yell at and insult us poor teachers when their kids get a low grade or misbehave in school. But I do love working in a school, and would love to be able to do something school-related that doesn't involved dealing with evil parents. (But not janitor or administration or anything like that...I don't know, there probably isn't anything else...) I like having summers off, too, so I can be at home with my kids... Any ideas?

The example I have been given is...
The Sun, the Earth & the moon.
The Sun is not part of the Earth but the Earth gets its light from the Sun.
This is all I can seem to remember.
Can anyone finish this or is there another analogy I can use? I have a presentation to do on Plotinus.

don't want one of those that hide in your desktop and popup when you give it a word to correct, I need one in word itself. I got such a terrible review on some chapters I sent into youwriteon.com that I need help badly. Commas are another sore point I don't know where to put them! Please can someone help me. I'm desperate.
If you give me a site name how do I get it into word, as it says it has a custom dictionary installed and it has but I need an Australian one as well as Word's?

I know that pre-med students usually major in things like bio or chemistry, but I was wondering if it was possible to major in something else, like psychology, and still be considered for getting into med school. I will do all my pre-reqs like the organic, inorganic chem. etc., i just don't know if this is a smart idea. any suggestions?

Houston Texas is passing a law that will charge a parent $500 and 30 days in jail if they miss a parent teacher meeting.I know that alot of parents really dont care about their kids and dont want to be bothered going to school to see how their kid/kids are doing in school.The $500 will be used in classes for supplies.Do you think this law to be is good?

I currently type at around 70-80wpm, where I've been at for about a year now. I haven't taken any typing classes, all self taught, but I have pretty good form. I'm looking to get in the upwards of around 150+ wpm. I'm just a high school student, so I don't have an excessive amount of typing I can practice with, but this is a skill I'm sure that'd be useful for me throughout my life if I can get it to double where I am now. Any suggestions are appreciated.
