I went and I disliked it,I was bullied by kids,teachers and staff.I was stuck there for several years.My parents would
refuse to take me out.I have fantasies on shooting up Mills
School(closed 1978) in Ft.Lauderdale Florida.
I have always been an outcast of society.I had no where to turn for help.That school did not help me at all.

Also, why is the HPV vaccine only mandatorily administered to girls in Texas in Sept. '08? Why are girls being targeted when boys/men can also carry and have genital warts/HPV?

When I was in school in 3rd grade they only took the girls from the class and left the boys clueless. The boys never got a presentation from the nurse with specially made videos and things like that. I went to a public school with plenty of funding.

I graduated with my bachelor's in psychology in 2003 and I'm ready to get back to school for my master's. Since I have graduated I have mainly worked in restaurants serving and bartendeng so I haven't gotten any other experience. I think I would like school counseling but I don't know THAT much about it. What should I expect from this field? Would it be difficult to get a job? Any information about school/educational counseling would be great! I live in Georgia if that helps at all..thanks!

I work in a secondary school where the pupils' behaviour is extraordinary. They swear, throw things and generally act like a load of ignorant brats. Every class has at least one with a "Behaviour and Social Emotional Difficulty", which is used as an excuse to act like an animal. Very few pupils seem to be interested in their education. Reading, writing and general knowledge seem very poor to my understanding. Discipline is a joke, with even the smallest achievement praised to the skies but the most dreadful behaviour excused. There is no respect, no urge to improve themselves, apart from a lonely few. I don't remember it being like this when I was a kid!

I'd like to become a teacher but I'm wondering if its worth it. Have I just described typical behaviour for kids today or am I just unfortunate enough to work at a real hell hole? Why does education today want to pathologise bad behaviour? Are we raising a nation of ignorant thugs? Give me some hope, please!
