The Daily Mail wrote 'pidgin'. Is that how one spells the word 'pigeon' when referring to someone that speaks their own version of English?

My child is in yr 5 at school, he has been verbally bullied for the last few months at school. On the first 2 occasions the headmaster assured me it wouldnt happen again. It has happened again, this time my son broke down in the playground, i went and spoke to the headmaster, who again assured me he would speak to the children concerned, and that would be an end to it! This was no-longer acceptable to me, so i have kept him off school for the last week. In the mean time i have written to the parent govenor and also the council. The council said they would get involved if after the parent gov gets involved and i am still not happy. I received a letter from the school asking me to go in for a meeting with the headmaster, but also an officer?? what officer? truancy? I am really annoyed if this is the case, as i am protecting my son, as the school dont want to know! The school have made me feel like i am just causing problems, and they try to make excuses.

I'm black, and a white Sp. Ed. student pushed through me in a doorway and received a one-day suspension in which noone wanted to even call his parents to inform them of the suspension, already knowing they would be fit to be tied. Same day, a black Sp. Ed. student pushed a white staff member, and is facing expulsion. I don't mind the one day that my student received, b/c I didn't feel physically threatened, he just needed to know that that was unacceptable. I'm trying to see if the system somehow is to the point where the less-advantaged children who don't have strong family advocates aren't receiving the same treatment as those who do come from more privileged or educated backgrounds. In this case, the black kid is being raised by a retired factory working, medically-fragile grandparent and the white kid's parent both have degrees.

Some of the high flying personalities are described dyslexics, for example, some of the prominent scientists in past. Ammerican President Goerge. W. Bush is said to be dyslexic.

It's come up more than once, this idea that homeschoolers are somehow 'not doing their duty' to help improve public schools. Why is it our duty? And who says? Public education is the government fulfilling its requirements. It is not mandatory for the public. I would think we would have more of a duty to the homeless and poor and sick than to some government-run institution, wouldn't we? (And certainly to our own children before the government!)

Do those who think homeschooling parents are not doing their duty to public education also condemn those who send their kids to private schools? If not, why not?

Isn't trying to change a system you don't want to be a part of like trying to change a church or religion you don't want to be a part of?

Furthermore, who says that the system could ever meet what many homeschooling parents envision for their kids?

So this is my first semester in gradschool, everything is new, i dont even know what im suppose to study on. There are no exams, but all projects and readings. On top of that, im 23, everyone is about 30 and in the prime of their careers, so talk about being intimidated. Now, i dont know if i like the professor, he acts like a ******** up there. He said it himself, he is not an ACADEMIC but a CONSULTANT. I dont know.... he just doesnt feel like a professor, more like a sales man. On my other class, the professor was great, so I thinking its probably not adjustment on my part. So im wondering if I should risk my GPA and suck it up.. or drop him and find another class. I cant believe the college hires professors that doesnt have real people skills... Brains are good, but you need to personality to deliver it... He is like a walking textbook to me.
