In English Cape Verde is the most westernly point of Africa, in Senegal.
Verde is the word for the colour "green" in both Italian and Spanish. It's even spelled the same, maybe Homer had something when he claimed Spanish and Italian are the same language. :-)

It depends on how you use the word for instance it could be a peninsula of western Senegal projecting into the Atlantic Ocean. First sighted by the Portuguese in 1445, it is the westernmost point of Africa. Or it could be the Spanish word for green, the french word for vert, the Italian word for green, and is also green in Portugeuse. Oh and vert means the tincture, or color, green. So pretty much it means Green in all different languages. Hope that helps =]
