I'd like to test out on a couple of the MC exams, but don't know how much I should prepare or how much they cost. Is there an opportunity to retake, and what does the retake cost?

My partner hasnt worked for nearly 15 years, she is on Income support with Incapacity credits. I was workng and had a part time job working a large supermarket chain. She has depression because her 2 kids were taken into care, and also suffers from arthritis.

She moved in with me in september but because I was working, she was allowed to keep her 1st £20.00 then the rest was taken off her benefits.

She applied for Incapacity benefit but was told she hadnt paid enough National insurance stamps to recieve incapacity benefit. Is this true? also I've had to give up my job because it wasnt worth working.

When I was last unemployed the benefits office wouldnt pay me JSA (jobseekers allowance) because again I hadnt earned enough national insurance stamps. But I was diagnosed with HBP (High blood pressure) related to stress of being in debt and and they paid me Incapacity benefit.

If my partner could get Incapacity benefit I could work and she could keep her money.

I get this question pretty much every time someone asks me what school I go to I say. "I am homschooled." Then the other person says something like. "Wow, cool! I guess you have friends right, it must be hard to make them since you homeschool. eh?"

I hate this comment and/or question!!! Its SO EASY to make friends when homeschooling. You just have to go out and do things you like to do. Sign up for homeschooling group in your area. Join clubs or voulenteer at a animal shelter.

Does anyone get this question too? How do you answer it without going up the wall!???!?

Every time i try to tell him to stop talking and pay attention he stops for a few minutes and then he starts doing the same thing. It s very annoying because he does not only talk but teases his classmates too and they get distracted.
Please help!! I cant always take him out of the class because he 's really smart and I can't talk to his parents because they rarely come at the school and simply they dont bother!!!!! Also, every time I try to call they are never there!!
What can I do??

I find that teachers fall into two categories - those that have more trouble with students and those that have more trouble with administrative tasks. I'm in the latter category. My classes are large and short (just got cut to 50 min). The two things I have the most trouble with and am trying to streamline are 1) attendance (attendance is very erratic and once I start teaching I dont like to stop). 2) noting who has done what assignments during class (speaking presentations, sharings, other projects). I really wanna figure out some really easy way to keep track of both things without getting sidelined from what I do well - interactions with the class. Some ideas I have thought of: Appointing a student attendance/assignment monitor (can rotate between 3 or 4) - just dont want them to be bribed by other students... Having a checklist that students come over and sign when they complete something, or if they come in late after the early attendance... Again - a concern with truthfulness.

I'm working on my dissertation, and it has two major current tasks. The first task is to edit and correct my literature review - I am missing alot of citations (my advisor said I need to have triple the number I have now) and need to go to the library and look at books that I can use to buttress statements I have made. This is a tedious task - given that my lit review is pretty long (130 pp). The other major task is to transcribe taped interviews that I have done as part of my data-gathering process. This is also tedious (takes me a bit longer than the 4 to I ratio often quoted (four hours transcribing for every one hour of tape) - but is a bit more relaxing and monotonous to do. In any case, both need to be done at some point.
I am more in the mood to transcribe - but if I don't fix my lit review, I wont be able to defend in Feb. Should I prioritize based on mood, or based on what 'should' be done - especially over vacation, while I have more time... Feeling Stuck - Halp!!
