i have a HUGE problem with procrastination. all the work gets done, but it usually is just a high C to a high B. So, even though my dad doesn't think it helps but distracts me (even though it doesn't) is that i play music while i work. It gets me in a grade mindset, and i can look forward to doing my work. my dad finds it a load of bull, but he is so uptight, so he doesn't have a clue. So, you can listen to music while you work, and if not, try to work out or something like that before hand, to get the blood moving

Here's a couple of suggestions:

1) You still have a week and a half. Before you just dive in and start doing them, take a little time for each and write an outline of what you are going to need to do. I have found if I can break a big task down into a series of smaller tasks I feel better about them because each individual task doesn't look so daunting.

2) That will let you be able to gauge your progress as you go along. Lay out a plan for when you are going to do what. Then stick to the plan, Perhaps if you find something is quicker than you thought work a little ahead and then take a day off from it.

3) Work on them in parallel. I find that if I have a couple or three things going I work on one awhile, get stuck or tired of it, so I go work on the other one and when I come back to the first my subconscious (or something) has perculated some new ideas to try. Then at some point one may become clear to you and you might say, "Well, I'll go ahead and knock this one out and get it over with."

WIthout actually knowing your specifics, I'll bet part of your problem is just dread from not knowing exactly what you are going to have to do to get these done. That's the key to the battle - once you know what it is you have to do, spelled out in a task list, rather than just a nebulous "two projects", it is just a matter of putting in the hours.

Well, when you start failing, your parents take away all of your rights, and you realize you won't be graduating as soon as you thought, you may start to do your homework.

Or at least, it works for me.

Set goals, make schedules of what you need to get done evry night, and pace yourself. Homework is boring, but it's better to have it done at the beginning and have all of that free time rather than stay up until insane hours of the night before because of procrastination. But if this sounds like a lot of boring work, go with my first suggestion - it never fails.

I always lock myself in my room, turn off my tv, turn off my computer, and turn on the radio. Once I don't have anything else to look at I just start one thing and finish it then go on to the next thing and if you have to use the computer for what you're doing then you should only have the right amount of windows up for what you're doing...don't have extras that causes trouble.

Well good luck...I don't have any homework to do over Christmas break thank goodness. I would wait till the night before we go back to do it anyway, but that's not good so don't do that lol.

I had a similar problem. I want you to think about this: you want to be something in life, right? Well, if you do not do these projects, the you will fail school and not go to college and not become something. This is the only way that I get through school. Hope this helps; and Merry Christmas!!!

Write out a plan and then divide into the number of days you will actually work on it. Do only the section you have planned for that day so it won't seem so big.

They say it is good for you to have a professional place for you to do your work. It should be an area just for you which is clear and clean.
