I asked yesterday, but the answer still doesn't match. So I'm hoping there is a math whiz out there that will be able to help!!

I tried the calculus websites and calculator, but I have no clue on how to get the answer.

The questions is to find the derivative for y=(cosx)^x, where -pi/2 < x < pi/2.

The answer is (cosx)^(x-1) (cosx ln(cosx) - xsin x))
Please help! and thank you.

If done normally, the answer is dy=(cosx)^x[ln(cosx)-xtanx]
However, I'm guessing that the restriction on x, which is (-pi/2 < x < pi/2) is what makes the answer different. Much help appreciated to the person who can figure it out! ^^

Tomorrow I have to present a slidshow and give a 1-3 minute speech about the life of Anne Sullivan. Much of the grade is based on how well I present (no twirling hair, swaying from side to side, ect.) Any tips on how I can pull off a good presentaion and not be nervous?

Other than pre-med I mean. I'm asking mainly for someone with an interest in professions like neurologist, and neurosurgeon. Also, comparing Biology and Chemistry majors, I hear that Biology is better, but how much worse is Chemistry if this is the case?

At the moment my mother is home-educating me. I went into Year 10 in September of this year (am currently fourteen years old) and am going to take my GCSEs in 2008. At the moment we're just studying for all the appropriate work needed. My main question is, I want to go to Art school when I'm 18 - but want to do A levels as well as 5 or 6 GCSEs. You need an art and design A level specifically to get into the art school as well as a portfolio of your art work etc. Anyway, I just wanted to know, after I have done the GCSEs in 2008 do we just then do the appropriate coursework for the A levels? By the way I asked about this before, and just got really condescending replies from people saying that I had no friends (which I do) and that I should go back to school because they would teach me better! My mother has been artist for several years and teaches me very well! I'm also thinking about going to art classes maybe, or maybe a private art tutuor for a while.

Thanks!

Do you find it annoying when home schoolers (not all) are always seem to be bragging about how much smarter they are then public/private schoolers, and how much more well mannered and respectful they are just because their home schooled.

I don't know about you but that really annoys me.

And I'm gonna say this again, not all home schoolers do this but a lot do.

I am a Student Ambassador in the People to People program and I wanted to know if you could send me some information about getting a grant. I am currently a High School sophmore in Fairfax, VA with a 3.8 GPA. I have attended other leadership conferences and would like to add People to People to that list. The cost would be a financial hardship on my family and I'm looking for other ways to offset the cost. My next payment of 1,000 is due December 29, 2006. The total cost for my trip is $6,000 please let me know how I can get some sponsors.
