Parents are more focused on how their children develop academically, rather than allowing them to play, develop an imagination, and just plain have fun. Having said that, my son is going to kindergarten next year, and people have told me that I have a lot of work to do with him in regards to his academics before he will be ready to go. What should he HAVE to know before he goes? I'm not going to push Algebra on a 4 year old to get him into school.. I'm talking what he HAS to know.
He knows all his colors and can point them out. He can count to 20 and point out the numbers from 1-10 when asked. He can write his name, Mom, Dad, and his brother's name. He knows all his letters and can point them out when asked. He knows the shapes.. circle, triangle, rectangle, square, heart, oval, trapezoid, rhombus, octagon ( working on pentagon, hexagon and septagon ) .. and he can draw them all when asked. Is there anything else that he HAS to know? I'm not taking time from him being a kid.

I am foriegner studying abroad. And this teacher seems like he hates me, when I rise my hand he never looks at me and I am very good at mathematics and science. I am sad!
I respect people, and I find no other reason except being a forienger.

I am a Year 8 student and i am required to organize a game stall for people like 6 years old to twenty sth or even more... can anyone give me some great ideas... (mental constipation... )

I also have a niece that is 7 and is in 1st grade, last week she got 11 wrong and 0 right on the test that to know what the words are she couldn't say any of the words. My sister said that she went over the words but my niece is still not learning the words and any ideas to teach her. My sister said she had her write the words down,say the words but she is jnot doing good on saying what the words are and she is been getting low scores on the oral words to look at the words and she can't say the words. I am afraid she will get behind more if she doesn't get the help she needs now and i don't want her to get so behind that she will not be at the level the other kids are at, that is what my family said.

Here's my situation. I teach flute lessons, usually through the high school band program. I interviewed exactly 2 weeks back. The interview went well. I was even told I was the top candidate. However, I have heard nothing since. About 3 days after the interview, I emailed the thank you / follow up letter, and heard nothing back. After a bit over a week had passed, I called and the director said they had not made a decision yet, but that it would be very soon. Another week has passed. I didn't want to bug him with a phone call, but I DID send another, "I'm still very interested in the job" email, with no response.

I'm paranoid because during the interview, he told me about a couple of candidates that were NOT a match for them, and said he was just going to "not call them back".

I think that's rude! A rejection letter is at least appropriate.

Should I call the guy again? Any suggestions?
(Useful ones, NOT just smart a** comments please.)

I have a question for all the users that are so horrible to people who have problems with their spelling.
You always use the argument that there is a spell checker so why don't people use it?
Well, may I draw your attention to the fact that the spell check only works on the Title box of the questions page and not in the Details box.
Many of you say that you are only pointing out the spelling mistakes in order to help that person improve their English. You you say you accept that some people cannot spell but why can't they use the B.Spell check.
I say it doesn't matter if they use Spell Check, because the computor automatically changes the word for you so you are not actually learning how to spell it properly, you just 'appear' to be able to.
So I want you all to answer honestly.....
do you want people to spell properly for their own sakes....
or just because it annoys you and you don't really give a damn if they can't spell as long as they don't do it around you
