I have just study in UK 4 nearly 2 month. 4 I want to stay here until I finish my University, my Englishi must be good enough. Now I'm studying in a college and doing A-LEVEL. Most of my classmates are local students. To tell the truth,our Chinese students usually want to make friends with the local students. But the mainly reason stop us from doing it is that our language is not as good as the locals and sometimes we will make some grammar mistakes..that is what i worried about. How does one run higher ed- as a business or as something completely different? What would be so wrong with approaching the administration of higher ed as one would running it as a business?

I am not asking whether higher ed should be run for profit, but whether higher ed institutions should hold their employees- faculty and staff- to the standards of the corporate world. Furthermore, the upper administration might be more open to innovation if they approached their positions as if the institution was a business. It seems that the upper administrators can easily embrace the status quo- how everything has always been done. New and radical ideas that could improve process and result in revenue are shot down without much consideration.

What is your take on this?

Im so scared?
my parents have always forced me to have all A's. if i got a b i got grounded. well i got my interim yesterday and i had 1 A, 4 B's, 1 C, and a D!!! I have never got a B before. The thing is im in highschool now and im also in the IB program which is incredibly hard.
