Why are people so judgemental to us home schoolers.Studies show that home schoolers are actually better at socializing then public or private students, and we get better scores on SATs then public/private students.I'm 14,and have been home schooled my entire school life, and will be untill 12 grade, and I can only think of pros to homeschooling.I also have friends, both my age and adult,so,why do people not like us?

I took a easy Alegebra 2 class last school year and my teacher didn't do so good. He was too kind and boosted my grade up even though I tried. What should I expect going into Pre Cal? Is it going to be really hard that I may fail because I'm not smart enough. I do my best, but sometime these teachers show no mercy and give hard work. I want to know the hard parts of this subject.

I read a quote by Francis Bacon and it went like this:
"Young people are fitter to invent than to judge; fitter for execution than for counsel; and more fit for new projects than for settled business."

If I've analised this correctly, he is basically saying that, when at school, young people are not doing what they need to be doing.

Can you solve this puzzle?
You are walking in a strange cave and you have no idea where you are or how you got here. As you are walking, you come across some tiles on the floor. They read "AHOY DYE FOOT." Strange.

You pass a second group of tiles which doesn't make much sense. The third pile says "LUG TUNA BLUBBER". You wonder where you would find tuna blubber in this cave, and where you should lug it to.

At that point, you look further down the cave and see that there are many groups of tiles.

How many groups of tiles are there?

I need to explain mileage to a younger relative. I know that, metrically, a mile is measured as 5,280 ft. (1,760 yds or 8 furlongs, or whatever), but in physical distance, a mile would be from where to where?? Any geographic example within the US is fine. Thanks!

I read a quote by Benjamin Franklin a long time ago. and I found it again. And I thought about its meaning. And I reached two possible conclusions.
The quote is:
"Genius without education is like silver in the mine."

Possible meaning Nº1 - Education here plays the role of the miner. The one that helps the genius to flourish. To come out of the mine. Since without it...it remains in the mine unseen forever.

Possible Meaning nº2 - Genius without education is a gold mine. It has tons to offer because it hasn't been messed with by education. It is untouched, therefore giving the purest silver to the world.

I hope you understand my metaphors.
What do you think he meant?
I support the 2nd conclusion.

Okay, I graduated from college last year with a degree in Psychology my gpa was a 2.42, very horrible...I didn't exactly know what I wanted to do because I was so busy trying to get out of school...about 5 or 6 months ago, I started to consider nursing because I have a genuine passion to work in the health field and help people feel better. Now I'm back in school completing my pre-reqs...(I'm aiming for at least a 3.5+)

I'm going to apply for about 7 nursing programs around the southern region. Do you honestly think I have a chance of going to nursing school? I do know that nursing school is highly competitive. I'm 23 years old, married, and very disciplined. What do you all think????
