I'm planning on visiting Japan sometime during college, but I've heard that meat is a large part of their diets. Should I worry too much about this or will I be able to survive there being a vegetarian?

Yes... this is homework, but I'm completely stomped..

Here's the situation: there are three animals that need to cross a river: a dog, a cat, and a mouse. Only one animal can go across at a time, BUT if the dog is left with the cat, the cat will be eaten. If the cat is left with the mouse, the mouse will be eaten. How do they go across the river one at a time without any of them getting eaten?

I'm thinking that the cat has to go first because the dog will not mess with the mouse... but then if I take either the dog or mouse over next, either the cat or the mouse will be eaten. Any ideas?

My dad suggested that I let the cat eat the mouse, and the dog eat the cat - and they all go over in one trip... (in the dogs stomach--but then 2 of them will be eaten...) ??

One of my co-workers is 31 and has four children, she's gone back to school to finish up her Bachelors degree and is thinking about joining a sorority. She asked my opinion and I told her that she already has her hands full with her children, work and school and a sorority would demand more of her free time than she had...I also mentioned that sororities are usually for younger students who are away from their families etc... Now she's accusing me of calling her old and not being supportive to her, was I wrong in giving this advice????

Explain it in a detailed way, because I am unsure of it's meaning.
