How about we keep all the letters and sounds, but have ALL letters be represented by a new symbol, to ease the typos?
example: I will repeat this Q, using the new system, up to the word "example":

We are studying our family history and found a book from 1939 that was presented as an award from a British School. On the first page it says "Presented to Kathleen Bohn, V B". The "V" also has a straight line over the top. Does anyone know what these two letters may refer to?

I mean really! Q is always followed by U and sounds like kw so it really is not needed
and that damnable C sound like S or was that the K sound I was supposed to say? Tricky little thing that C is!
I would support the changing of the "-aught" and "-ought" to awt.
"OO" like door to single "O" and "OO" like food to "U".
Poor O! He is really overworked!

Any other changes we should make?

Remember this is for fun, I do not really want to change the language.
