There are different methods of teaching. The methods are the way you get the students to understand the information. Teachers can use "direct instruction" where the teacher lectures and the students take notes or just listen. Teachers can use "cooperative learning" where the students are given a task and work in groups to complete it. Teachers can use "exploratory learning" where the students are given a problem or task w/out many directions or background information and then the students must learn as they work through the problem/task. Like if you asked, How do volcanos work? Then provide the students the materials and ask them to find out, instead of telling or showing them the answer.
Yes people learn differently. Some need to hear it, some need to see it, some need to do it (hands on) to really grasp a concept. That's why when you see people putting together a desk or cabinet for example: some read the directions first, some get a partner to read it to them, some throw the directions away and figure it out on their own. Those are called leaning styles, not teaching methods. The method used is how the teacher conveys the information to the students. Every teacher is different and prefers different methods. It's best to use a little of all different methods to be sure to meet different students needs.
Hope that helps.

The methods of teaching are the ways that you communicate the information to the students. There are several approaches to every topic. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to make sure every student in my class is getting reached. The METHODS I use to do that are touched on in college but more or less discovered every time you walk into the classroom.

Methods of teaching are various techniques or approaches to teaching. Why are there multiple ones? Because not everyone learns in the same way. Some are more visual and need to "see and touch it." Others are more auditory and learn better by hearing it.
Some methods focus on teaching young children, who learn very differently from adults whose brains are more developed and whose experiences are greater.

Different people have different learning styles. Some learn best by listening to lectures, others by seeing visual aids, and others by being able to do it instead of just hearing about it. That's what is meant by different methods of teaching.

It means how different methods are applied to teaching the same subject. Some teachers are hands-on, some are standoffish, some are stern, some are hilarious, etc.
