I just got out of school a week ago. next school year I'll be an 8th grader. At school I was always the shy quiet girl who had an accasionally outburst once in a while.bUT NOW i just want to be confident, and speak up for myself.I thought if i run for Student Council people might notice me. but theres a catch. Im running against the most popular girl at school who happens to be my cousin.but many people hateher(including myself) so i think i might have a chance. I have a whole summer to turn myself around .whats the best way to start?

So, I am writing a Science Fiction novel that will fall under the Young Adult market Genre. I am looking for some input on a couple of topics. Those in the business and those who just love to read are encouraged to respond.

Religion in YA literature. In this novel the Christian church has become corrupt and is using science and politics along with Christian doctrine to maintain power. Is this idea too adult for the genre I am marketing? Would this drive readers and/or publishers away? How much doctrine can I use before I get considered a heretic?

In this futuristic society sex has been removed and the main characters discover what has been eliminated. My question is how much sex is too much sex for a young adult book. I do understand that graphic sex scenes are a no; I would just like opinions on where the line is drawn.

I am greatful for all answers but realize that my audience is always the student despite what us adults think.

In the early 1930s a man named Eli was in the advertising bussiness. However this was not very profitable at the time. He became very pore, and his clothes were falling apart. His diet was also very limited, and his lunch consisted of cheese sandwiches.
A small mouse lived in his apartment office and Eli shared part of his sandwich with the mouse. However over time this became even too much for him to afford.
Needing to let the mouse go, he decided he could not let him just out the door since the resturaunt he lived over used mouse traps.
He carried the mouse out to the woods, let it go and wished it to live happily ever after.
Now we dont know the fate of the mouse, but Eli soon picked up a new line of work. He loved to draw, and he had drawn pictures of the mouse. He even put clothes on the mouse. For it was Elias Walt Disney who would name this mouse Mortimer Mouse. But his wife did not like this name and gave it a more famous name.
Mickey Mouse

As i said, there is a cup in the painting. Yeah there is things there that dont make sense. Somethings probably were created to support a legend.
But, its also like "National Treasure" NT is based on facts and fiction: The Free Masons at last word i have include Bill CLinton and George W Bush. They have included JFK and many others.
There was the Templer Knights, and There is even talk of a treasure. But then you have this odd connection between the templer knights and the Da Vinci Code.

Kind of makes you wonder what part of all this leaves fact and goes fiction.
