its a fundamental science. from career perspective - its a safe haven. from professional point - yo will always be in demand.
Some disciplines( Civil, Comp. Science, Mechanical) will alway be in demand but you should aim for what branch is of interest to you.
Overall, engineering is easier comapred to Medicine.

look once you have decided bout professional courses .. its better and good tat you take up engineering . coz becoming a doctor is a time taking process and very costly too . moreover in engineering you don.t have to slog all over ..as in medicine
