~Neither, if you flunk out. Taking a meaningful course load and getting a marketable degree might help. Asking this question, I can see you're not Harvard or Yale material. Have you considered BOCES?

they are both great schools.

I would think that James Madison would be slightly superior, but no one in the real world cares where you went to collage, as you will see when you get your paper and get out there, so it doesn't matter from a career point of view.
Go to the easiest one, which is Va. Tech, though I am not saying it is an easy school. Do yourself the favor. It will still be plenty hard.

It depends on your major. JMU is not a bad school, I have seen scholars from JMU on major news shows (CNN shows, ect.). I suggest that you look up the rankings of the schools that have your particular major. You can find this information at usnews.com and newsweek.com.

it depends entirely on what field you want to go into. Engineering? Be a Hokie. If you are more liberal artsy, then you might want to go to JMU instead. You also have to consider the locations and number of students at each school.

I really doesnt matter as long as you do good while you are there.
Pass your classes with a good grade point average and get your degree.
