My son has an ipod and I want to buy something cheaper to take to the gym. Can you download songs from itunes I want something very easy to use that I can put in an armband.

i just charged my ipod through my computer as the battery was in the orange light. So i charged it and it turned green... didn't u se my ipod for a day and then when i wanted to hear it...it showed the orange light and then after 30 mins. a red light..which means uncharged. But hows that possible? I charged it and the green light also came..and i didn't use it and still the battery fell low? Why?

My brother barrowed my Ipod nano, and used the case to tap nails out of a dresser. But the ipod was in it, so it made very small dents in the screen. How can I get rid of them? They don't wash off. They are verrry small.

Everytime I play a cd,whether it's new or not, my radio makes this reverberation and skips on them.What the heck could be causing this,anyone have an idea?
I've cleaned the machine with a cd lense cleanser and the cds.I have no idea what coud be causing this.

the left ear piece to my i-pod head phones do not work now and i am wondering if wrapping the wiring was the problem. i had to get new head phones beacuse of it.

Ok, so I was really stupid and ran the battery down till the ipod shut itself off completely. Now I have it plugged into the computer and it's not doing anything...it says "Very Low Battery. Please Wait." on the screen. Please bear with me...I've never done this before. Will it come back to life? And will there be any damage from the battery being run down all the way?
I'm very upset this happened...the fully charged battery only lasted about 9 hours when the Apple site promised 14! Any comments on this?

I am an electronically challeged mother of 3 girls, who all want ipods for their birthdays coming up. They are all asking for ipods, but even used on ebay they are very expensive. I noticed other MP3 players that looked similar and actually did more for a cheaper price. My question is: Are the cheaper MP3 players as good of quality as an ipod?? Would I be wasting my money on anything but an ipod?? Or would I just be paying "for the name" if I got the ipod?? They basically want them just to play music, but they wouldn't be mad if they held pictures or played videos.
Would appreciate any knowledgeable suggestions!!!

Most of my MP3s have a fairly consistent audio level (volume). However, once in a while one will play that's very loud compared to the rest. I'd like to be able to "adjust" the audio level of that specific MP3 within the file itself (not by turning the volume down on my player) to bring it in line with the rest of my collection. Is this possible?

It is older and plays 16's, 33's, 48's etc. It is electric. The record player opens in the middle(folds down) and the speakers open up on the sides.

Ok my brothers got a new itunes where all the playlists (mine and theirs) downloaded to all the ipods so i deleted it and got a new itunes they created their playlists and made mine (dont know why) with a bunch of their songs. So i deleted that playlist and found my old playlist from when i first got my ipod, but now when i try to download that it says ''songs on the ipod ''----'' cant be synced because all the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist.'' So now my ipod has no songs on it and wont download anything. How do i get a new playlist on?

I'm looking for the best setup for playing ~192kbps mp3 quality music from my pc into a rich, multi-speaker setup in my room.
I currently output from a Soundblaster Live! card over 7m phono cable to a 10 yr-old, but fairly decent all-in-one hifi with 2 speakers.
I do not want to play games, watch dvds or anything fancy with this setup & the main aim is to get good quality MUSIC (or as much as you can from 192kbps mp3s) - but ideally through 4 or more speakers dotted around the room to give a rich sound from wherever I stand & wrap around me.

1. Does anyone know of good technology that gets the most out of this lossy audio format?

2. Does anyone know of a great way to create a subtle, non-music-ruining surround-sound/similar effect to work with mp3s (recorded in stereo) or is it not worth bothering?

3. What would people recommend doing? Using an all-in-one soundblaster x-fi card or similar, or having an average sound card output to an hi-fi amp?

4. Speakers?

Budget: £300 - £1000.
