The wires are really skinny, and can break pretty easily.

If you do wrap the wires around your mp3 player, be gentle.

the conductors that take the sound signals to your earpiece are made of copper wires =metal- try this experiment
hake the ring pull off a coke can and place it in a vice with about half of it sticking out
bend the protruding piece back and forth
how many times before it broke? that's called metal fatigue
back to first statement the copper conductors in your headphones are metal ergo if you bend them enough they will break!

bottom line do not bend the cable into tight folds loop them into a circle no smaller than the diameter of a compact disk

the other thing that happens when you wrap them, th cable twists down its length [have you seen how corkscrew like extension leads go when they are wrapped and unwrapped constantly if you wrap them, be sure to unwrap them rather than pulling the wrapped cable off the end of what they are wrapped round - this is difficult to explain but easy to demonstrate - i hope you understood this bit?

It depends on how tight you have them wrapped. If you do it too tight, you risk stretching the wiring on the inside but doing it loosely shouldn't be much of a problem. I used to do the same thing until my wiring snapped, now Im more careful about it.

I even have telephones that are nonetheless ok after 7 years - they're all delicate by no skill pull them out of your ears. each make would be comparable (the cheap copies will inspite of the incontrovertible fact that be much less robust) for reliable telephones flow Shure, Bose, Sennheisser yet all of them are delicate digital products as all in-ear telephones are!

Not neceseraly. It depends on the quality of the headset for one thing. Also it depends on any stress you put on it. If you stretched the headset or bent it to sharply you could cause a pench or break in the headphone wire which would cause the problem your having.

I always do that to mine. If yours broke maybe try wrapping them a little looser. That way the wire won't bend and mess up the sounding.

I wrap mine around my ipod all the time, but you have tobe gentle. Also, don't wrap them to tight, but mine never broke. It could also be that you play your ipod too loud or they're just old..
